What story offers: Before you tell me this is not an Isekai anime, I will still recommend it to be the highest choice. Why do you ask? Because this series is one of the best-balanced cocktails of comedy, action, and family love you will ever see in any anime.
Characters: While trying to avoid spoilers, I would say only this about the characters: First and foremost, Anya is too cute😳😳. And here expressions are to die for 🥰🥰. While Agent Twilight comes out as a cool but warm-hearted father/spy 🕴🏻. Yor as Anya’s mother is a kickass mother and assassin 🤩🤩 which creates some hilarious situations.
Recommendation: One of the reasons I’m not a big fan of the Slice of Life genre is: that it tends to get boring fast 🥱🥱. But not the Spy X Family series. This series is a top anime in any genre. Hands down, I think everyone should watch this series once at least.
Attack on Titan
Genre: Fantasy, Action, Adventure
Status: The series spans four seasons.
What story offers: I doubt any anime fan hasn’t watched the Attack on Titan series at least once. Spoiler alert 🤫: our story is set in a world where humanity is fighting to survive against humanoid giants called Titans who eat humans. Yup! Be prepared for blood and gore in these series.
Our protagonist and his friends are young soldiers who fight against the Titans. As the anime goes on, we see numerous battles against these Titans, as well as political troubles within humanity factions. This anime delves deeply into themes such as power, sacrifice, betrayal, and the consequences of war.
Characters: The main hero Eren Yeager is probably the most lovable character. But his love interest – Mikasa Ackerman and his best friend – Armin Arlert are pretty well-balanced characters too. Besides them, there are tons of other characters which are developed and shown pretty well throughout the series 😱😱😱.
Yup! This series has no slouch when comes to character arcs.
Recommendation: If you can handle a few bloody scenes, and want to enjoy something inspiring, romantic, and deep storytelling 😇😇. Then you need to watch this series. There are very few such must watch anime that can offer emotional rollercoasters 🤯🤯🤯.

What the story entails: One of the best suspense-mystery anime, ever watched in recent animes. The portrayal of our main character’s emotional struggles makes a deep connection with any anime fan. Still, the anime shows you some serious themes of trauma and redemption 😭😭😭.
Characters: Our main protagonist is a young man named Satoru Fujinuma, who can go back in time. And he uses his ability to prevent tragic events from happening. After one such incident, Satoru finds himself sent back 18 years in the past. And here he must prevent a series of kidnappings that happened during his childhood.
Recommendation: Despite being not isekai, Erased anime is ranked so high in our list. Because of its great storytelling and suspense-gripping plot. The characters’ arc and development over every episode will keep you hooked 😮😮 throughout the series.
Even there is a Netflix TV show based on this series, which is pretty awesome too. I enjoyed it despite knowing almost all the story and twists. So do enjoy this series at least once.
Reincarnated as a Sword

What story offers: If you are a hardcore Isekai anime fan. And love to explore different kinds of stories in the isekai genre. Then Reincarnated as a Sword is one of the best new isekai anime with a twist. Why?
Because our hero is all-powerful and legendary yet he is reborn as a sword. Here we encounter our cute and brave “Fran”. A cute 😇😇 cat girl of course, who becomes our Hero’s student and wields him as the sword of justice in the isekai world. Our story mainly revolves around how our hero/sword, “Teacher” and his student Fran, get stronger together.
Characters: Teacher our hero/sword who is reincarnated is funny and still OP — as he is a legendary sword. But “Fran”, our wielder of the sword is the innocent and brave kid 😇😇. Yup! she’s darn cute yet dead-set on growing stronger, following the wish of her late parents.
Recommendation: As reincarnation animes go, Reincarnated as a Sword, is a must watch anime in 2024. The story has a high balance of action-adventure, comedy, and emotional scenes jam-packed together. My recommendation as an Isekai nerd–100% must watch for certain.

Status: Currently one season is completed with over 20 episodes. Second season currently running.
What story offers: Our anime mainly follows the protagonist Shadow. 🤫🤫 At least that’s what he calls himself 😁😁. Before being reincarnated in Isekai, our hero had read countless books and watched numerous movies about becoming a shadow master. So now with the help of magic and martial arts, he decides to become a master of the shadows himself.
Yup! He is a weird hero with an obsession with being the strongest in the world. And as Shadow’s notoriety spreads, he gains followers and friends. Which makes this whole story more comedic and action-packed at the same time. 🤓🤓
Characters: The main character and hero Cid Kagenô surely suffers from “chūnibyō syndrome“. But, no worries, it still doesn’t reduce his charm and comedic efforts. Other characters like Alexia Midgar and Iris Midgar are well-developed characters with their own motivation and story arcs. Trying to limit spoilers guys! 🤤🤤
Recommendation: For an Isekai anime, The Eminence in Shadow is a must watch anime. As comedy anime, you will enjoy our hero’s efforts to try and hide his identity. The story is engaging and constantly moving. So you won’t get a chance to get bored.

What the story entails: Another great example of unusual Isekai anime, our heroine is reborn in the isekai world of magic and swords. But in this case. Our heroine is reborn as a spider 😵😵. Yup! Its story is filled with unexpected twists 🤣🤣.
Without many spoilers, let me tell you, the story takes a whole new approach to Iskeia’s heroine concept. Which is fun and loving. Filled with life-threatening situations to comedic action, our protagonist goes on an adventure that gives the vibe of I got reincarnated as a slime anime. 🧐🧐But its approach is very different at the same time.
Characters: I always feel there are fewer Isekai heroines as protagonists. But that doesn’t mean female isekai is not fun. So I’m a Spider, So What? proves 💪💪 that a well-characterized female protagonist can be as good as any male protagonist. Although the main focus stays on our heroine, other characters have their moments as well.
Recommendation: So I’m a Spider, So What? explores themes such as identity, self-discovery, and the value of life, as our heroine comes to terms with her new spider form in this unfamiliar world. Despite that, this reincarnation anime has a great balance of action and comedy 🤪🤪🤪. You will certainly enjoy it to the heart! Our only hope is, we will get a sequel soon.

Each character has a unique personality and abilities. And their interactions with each other are key aspects of the anime series. The characters’ growth and development as they face challenges and overcome obstacles are also an important part of the 👏🏻👏🏻 story.
